For table bookings or just general info email.  The GCARS 146.700 Mhz repeater (VK4RGC) at Springbrook is currently out of service, due to circumstances beyond our control. For now we can use the Wide Area Network at Springbrook on 147.225 MHz (offset positive 600, Tone 91.5khz). This is linked into Mt Coot-tha, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Warwick, Dalby, Sunshine Coast. The Australian Army 7th Brigade will be holding an Open Day in Brisbane on Saturday the 1st of September, showing the various Army hardware from the 7th Brigades Enoggera base. There will be an Army helicopter, artillery, trucks etc (maybe a tank). This event will also include displays by the 7th Combat Signals Regiment (radio and satellite communications equipment), which is what we Amateur Radio operators would be interested in seeing.

The WIA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Technical Forum will be held over the weekend of 18th, 19th and 20th May 2018 at SeaWorld on the Gold Coast. This years event is being organised by the Gold Coast Amateur Radio Club (GCARC) with most of the weekends activities taking place at the Sea World Resort. Accommodation is available at the Sea World resort as well as a number of hotels, caravan parks and venues within close proximity. As has become the tradition, there will be a Friday night dinner this will lead into a full day on Saturday with a field day on the Sunday and many unique tours. See you there. International Space Station - Viewing A couple of high passes over Brisbane/Gold Coast area on Feb 27th 2016 (next Saturday) 2 passes one morning and one evening for both early risers and the sleep in crowd. Times are local time. First pass - start 04:42am, reaches highest point at 04:46am, over the horizon 04:49am. The pass starts from the SW and moves to the NE. Second pass - starts 07:41pm, reaches highest point at 07:44pm, over the horizon at 07:45pm. The pass comes out of NW goes over head towards the SW. Passes will be easy to view as long there are no clouds in the sky. Listen on 145.825 with SQ open for the packet data bursts as ISS  more detailed viewing are on the link below for Brisbane.
